Please join us as we debut Dungeon Synth, Peter Beste's photo work documenting the deeply independent musical subculture of dungeon synth. As part of the evening, Peter will showcase selections from the book, a first of its kind photographic account of the elusive subculture, and we'll be hosting the first West Coast performance by Grimdor.

The LA stop of Colin Asher's Midnight Special tour. A NYT's editor's choice, TMS is a 5-part exploration of the connections between the American prison system and American popular music. JC Gabel, (H&B Press), will join the conversation. Afterward, Asher will spin records by the musicians discussed in the book at 1642 Bar next door.

The Loved One is a hybrid cultural space bringing together literary programming, art exhibitions, live music, and a myriad of other interdisciplinary events under one roof.
Named for Evelyn Waugh's satirical Hollywood novel, The Loved One was founded in response to a cultural landscape increasingly shaped by algorithms, monetized and monopolized platforms, and general digital consumption burnout.
By creating a space rooted in physical experience, conversation, and discovery, we hope to further cultivate meaningful in-person interactions among artists, writers, musicians, publishers, designers, photographers, teachers, chefs—creative types of all kinds.
